our fashion guide to Autumn-Winter 2013
Your fashion guide to Autumn/Winter 2013
With September finally here it means that A/W13 is well and truly in our grasp and the awfully awkward ‘transitional period’ from hot to cold weather is upon us. Although it may be hard to put away our denim cut off’s and open toed sandals for yet another year, we have the best trends to follow when updating your wardrobe from Summer sun to wet Winter.
Although we can’t help to associate it with our youth, pink has taken an adult approach and seen a more mature revival this season. Baby pink is the key to success with it seen everywhere from Versace, Isabel Marant, Saint Laurent and Chanel whilst also being the key trend on our favourite model of the century, Cara Delevingne’s, September Vogue shoot. Whatever texture and material it’s on, pink is working and it’s proven with these chosen pieces here.
TOP TIP: Hot pink tends to go best with black items whilst baby pink always looks best with white or cream. Mix it up and see what works best for you!
Without fail, every year see’s the return of punk with leatherette being a hit across the whole of the High St. Seen in all different styles and designs, Versace, Saint Laurent, Isabel Marant and Chanel have all taken the trend and run with it. Whether it’s simple silhouettes or loud, out-there designs, Punk is always a throwback style that none of us can shift.
TOP TIP: Glam the looks up for a night out with a pair of black heeled strappy sandals or dress it down with a classic pair of converse.
It’s the return of the X-Factor and the return of Caroline Flacks ‘Shuits’, the shorts meets suit combo. Seen at Victoria Beckham, Burberry Porsom, House of Holland and Louis Vuitton, the feminine suit is worth considering this season with it’s flattering shape and expensive look. What’s even better is that you can either wear them together for a bold look or pair them with alternative pieces to create various outfits!
TOP TIP: Take Ms. Flacks advice to having the ‘perfect leg day’ to accompany your outfit by mixing MAC’s Face & Body foundation into your leg moisturiser to give an even complexion and hide any blemishes. Thanks Caroline!
